The U.S. continued airstrikes in Iran while Tehran launched retaliatory attacks on U.S. targets in the Gulf, as President Trump said he was close to deciding whether to launch "a massive attack."

The fighting comes as the Trump administration is seeking billions of dollars more from Congress for the war with Iran, which Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says has already cost $37.5 billion.

Commercial vessels have already begun rerouting in the Red Sea in response to the Iran-backed Houthis' blockade, according to ship trackers.
