David Fleming speaks with peace activist Dr. Frank Romano about his book, "Love and Terror in the Middle East." During Romano’s last trip to Jerusalem, he stood in front of an Israeli bulldozer that was preparing to destroy a Bedouin village. He was arrested, beaten, stabbed, and deported… with this account being added to a recent 5th edition of the book.

David Fleming speaks with Marshall Hawkins, primarily known as a bass player, who got his start with the blues singer and pianist Betty Gray. He then played with Shirley Horn for several years before joining Miles Davis, after Ron Carter left what would be known as Davis’s second great quintet. Many other great names in there, but specific to THIS region, in 1978, Marshall moved to Idyllwild, and in 1986 California, home of the internationally famous high school for the arts. In 1986, he founded the Jazz program at the Idyllwild Arts Academy. Along with Gregory Robbins, Hawkins will guest conduct the Redlands symphony Big Band Holiday Jam on December 11th.

Comedian Scott Wood speaks with David Fleming once again. He was on a few months ago talking about his TV show, "Something Smells Funny," as well as serving as emcee for music events, including one in September with Affordable Music Productions.

This time we'll hear about his approach to comedy, past and present. Also, coming early in 2022, he has a new comedy special, a movie, and more... and just a bit more on "Something Smells Funny."

Oh yes. And impressions. LOTS of impressions. We'll even get impressions of people DOING impressions.

David Fleming speaks once again with Al Pitrelli, of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. On the previous program we heard about the virtual Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert from last year, and the current tour, with a stop in Ontario December 4th. On this program, they speak just a BIT of TSO, then it's off to the sidebars. We'll get a bit on Derek Sherinian - some REALLY funny moments there, including mentions of Sherinian's approaching meeting with Alice Cooper. There's also a past project with quite the funny name. We'll also explore, in one way or another, why and how Pitrelli does what he does, which includes discussion of Jeff Beck, front porch improv, and continuous exploration.

With the exception of 2020, TSO has come to the region every year for QUITE some time now. Last year, while they didn’t come to our area physically, they DID provide a special virtual concert. We spoke about THAT concert, as well as being on the road again this year with a stop in Ontario December 4th at the Toyota Arena.
