KVC-Arts 5/17/26 - Jonathan Karrant's Latest Release... And His Next

David Fleming | May 19, 2026, 10:03 PM UTC
Jonathan Karrant with The Joe Alterman Trio is an absolutely FANTASTIC release. On this edition of KVC-Arts, David Fleming speaks with Jonathan about the album, and we'll get a touch of the music as well. Blending jazz standards with tunes from jazz greats - which may or may not be a so called "standard." Tunes which you may associate with Nancy Wilson, Les McCann, Wes Montgomery... even Jerry Lewis! Mix these in with a couple pop megahits with a WONDERFUL jazz treatment (Your Song, Everybody's Talking, Don't Let Me be Lonely Tonight), and you have "Jonathan Karrant with The Joe Alterman Trio Live in Concert." This - and a sneak peak at his NEXT release, due out in September.

KVC-Arts 4/12/26 Benjiphonik, New Single & Video - 15 Minutes Ahead of Insanity
David Fleming speaks with Benjiphonik about his newest single, "15 Minutes Ahead of Insanity," as well as the video release FOR it. The release was another in the series of videos being launched in tandem with KVC-Arts. The song and video speak of being at the point of boiling over, but with a look at lessons we could have and should have learned from. Lessons we perhaps still CAN learn.

Also - addressing the Ritenour release, Six-String Theory... which involves Lukather yet again!
Also, Peter Curtis joins us once again to talk about SEVERAL outstanding concerts coming up through the RCC Department of Music guitar program... Triada Guitar Trio, jazz guitarist Mimi Fox, and several RCC ensembles. More at rccguitar.com, and more still at rcccoilschoolforthearts.com

KVC-Arts 3/15/26 Jeffrey Siegel's Keyboard Conversations
KVC-Arts 3/15/26 Jeffrey Siegel's Keyboard Conversations
For forty-plus years, beyond being the soloist and/or pianist with many of the most renowned symphonies in the U.S. and beyond, Jeffrey Siegel has been performing/presenting "Keyboard Conversations." This is a concert setting, though before each piece he explains not only a bit of the history behind it and things to look forward to within the piece, but also some interesting facts one might not know, unless you happen to have REALLY studied the piece or composer. And then there's a Q&A after the concert to cover anything else.

David Fleming speaks with Siegel about this series - including the next one, "Music of Joy and Peace coming up soon at McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert. And a bit of a sidetrack to Gershwin.
