FNX Earns Seven Regional Emmy® Nominations, Elevating Indigenous Stories on a National Stage

San Bernardino, CA — May 4, 2026

First Nations Experience (FNX-TV) - the only national Native American and World Indigenous-focused broadcast network in the United States is proud to announce seven prestigious Regional Emmy® nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Pacific Southwest Chapter. The nominations recognize FNX’s outstanding slate of original programming: Red on the Runway, Cleaning’s A Cakewalk, Navajo Highways, Tiger, POW, and Courage.

This milestone moment underscores FNX’s unwavering commitment to centering Indigenous voices and stories; stories that have too often been underrepresented or misrepresented in mainstream media. Through authentic, community-rooted storytelling, FNX continues to create space for Native perspectives that are as diverse, dynamic, and resilient as the communities they reflect.

Red on the Runway offers a vibrant and inspiring look into Indigenous fashion and design, where culture, identity, and innovation intersect. Cleaning’s A Cakewalk brings humor and relatability to everyday life, delivering Indigenous storytelling with a fresh, contemporary voice. Navajo Highways journeys through the landscapes and lived experiences of the Navajo Nation, illuminating the deep connections between land, history, and community, while Tiger presents a powerful narrative of perseverance, strength, and personal transformation.

The nominated films POW and Courage further exemplify FNX’s dedication to storytelling with purpose exploring themes of resilience, intergenerational strength, and the enduring spirit of Indigenous peoples. Each production reflects FNX’s mission to educate, inspire, and connect audiences while honoring the richness and complexity of Native cultures.

“These nominations are a powerful affirmation of the stories we tell and the communities we serve,” said Connie Leyva, Executive Director of KVCR/FNX. “We are deeply honored to have these works recognized and remain committed to uplifting Indigenous voices with authenticity, respect, and pride on a national stage.”

“Seeing these amazing writers, directors, and storytellers be nominated at the highest level of recognition is amazing, and to be able to stand by their side as a nominee myself is an absolute honor,” said Station Manager of FNX, Frank Blanquet.

As a Native-led network, FNX continues to break new ground in public media, ensuring Indigenous storytellers are not only seen and heard, but celebrated. These nominations mark not just an achievement, but a continued call to amplify stories that matter—stories that preserve culture, spark dialogue, and inspire future generations.

FNX extends its gratitude to the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Pacific Southwest Chapter for this recognition and proudly congratulates all of this year’s nominees.
