Some 30 years ago, Inland Empire residents Hardy and Cheryl Brown bought a small black newspaper and over the years grew it into one of the most widely-circulated community newspapers in the region.  Now a California State Assemblywoman representing the San Bernardino Valley, Cheryl Brown talks with KVCR's Ken Vincent about the history of the black press in the IE -- much of it personal to her and her family.  This is Part 1 of a two-part interview.
