Riverside International Film Festival Highlights

The 11th Annual Riverside International Film Festival took place Wednesday, April 17th through Sunday, April 21st at the Regal Cinemas at Riverside Plaza. Many filmgoers and aspiring filmmakers over flooded the theaters to watch films from countries such as Mexico, France, and even the United States.

Friday, April 19 was set apart for one of the most exciting and busiest days of the film festival. There were three animated films presented: A Cap in Paris from France and Flatland and Flatland 2 from the United States. Several California Baptist University student film were shown as The Muralist and Lucy.

The highlight of Friday, April 19 was the special guest appearance by Actor Kevin Sorbo, wo was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for acting at the RIFF Annual Gala later that evening.

He made an appearance the night before for the screening of his recent film Abel’s Field. Sorbo also made an appearance during the showing of the CBU student films to present awards to the student filmmakers and to give words of advice.
