For many years, Riverside County Supervisors have settled lawsutis filed against the county by authorizing settlements that have been kept secret from the public.  The newest member of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, Kevin Jefferies, wants to make settling lawsuits more transparent.

Some of the tens of thousands of Central American immigrants crossing the border illegally from Mexico into the U.S. are being flown from overcrowded detention centers in Texas to Southern California to be processed in Murrieta.  After being processed, some of them could be released from detention in Riverside and San Bernardino counties to await their hearings.  KVCR's Matt Guilhem has details.
