Well before her National Book Award-nominated first novel was published, Inland Empire author Susan Straight renamed her hometown of Riverside "Rio Seco," and used the fictional town as the primary location for many of her stories.  KVCR's Ken Vincent sat and talked with Susan Straight as she prepares to accept a Los Angeles Times Book Award for Lifetime Achievement.
