David Sedaris, author of the previous bestsellers Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, and regular National Public Radio contributor will be appearing for one night only at the Fox Performing Arts Center. Following the release of his New York Times #1 Bestselling book When You Are Engulfed in Flames, author David Sedaris will visit the Fox Performing Arts Center for an evening of engaging recollections and readings. Tweaking the familiar until it warps; David Sedaris mines poignant comedy from his peculiar childhood in North Carolina, his bizarre career path, and his move with his lover to France. David Sedaris? wickedly witty observations of the ordinary-bizarre deliver insights and laughs. Sedaris made his comic debut recounting his strange-but-true experiences of being a Macy?s elf, reading his ?Santaland Diaries? on Nation Public Radio?s Morning Edition in 1992. His sardonic humor and incisive social critique have made him one of NPR?s most popular and humorous commentators. In 2001, he was named Humorist of the Year by Time magazine and received the Thurber Prize for American Humor.

Special event tickets are a thank you gift for your contribution. This support allows us to provide high-quality programming and services for the community; remember a portion of your donation is tax deductible.

Please be aware there are no refunds issued for donations received in exchange for KVCR special event ticket offers. KVCR cannot guarantee a specific section or seat location; we try to accommodate all special requests according to the date and time your pledge is received.

To ensure your seats are reserved, KVCR must receive full payment of your pledge 30 days prior to the Special Event. KVCR makes every effort to mail tickets two weeks prior to the event date.

If an event is cancelled by KVCR the pledge may be credited toward a future event elected by management or your donation may be refunded. KVCR acts in good faith regarding all special events.
